Mez releases two-track Bandcamp exclusive 'Quarantine Tarantino'

Words: Pete Wilson

If you liked Mez’s recent EP 'Babylon Can’t Roll', you will love these.

Mez’s explosive flow has been talked about for a few years now. In these two releases he is still pulling no punches. Mez’s energy always works well over dark grimey instrumentals, and these are some demonic sounding beats.

A Nottingham born MC, 22 year young Mez began his career back in 2013. A familiar face on Rinse, NTS & BBC1Xtra, Mez has supported Stormzy and Kano on their respective tours; Mez was also invited by D Double E & Skepta to open at their sold-out shows.

The first track, 'Not A Dan', is one of Grandmixxer’s first, ‘if not the first production’. It’s a stripped back filthy dance floor screamer. It will have you screw facing and putting gun fingers up on your way to shop for essentials. 'Pump Up The Jam' is dark, taken from Plastician’s ‘Remastered’ album. It samples the famous dance floor filler pretty much in name only. Save this one to your memory stick and bust it out at your first 4am slot at the squat rave after quarantine. It’s nice to get a bit of bonus content from Mez.
